Sacramento Law Firm and Trial Lawyers Across the Country Show "Wii" Care
(Vocus) August 1, 2009 -- Local children are now getting the chance to smile while they heal thanks to local trial attorneys. The first three Mondays in August, 53 law firms from 25 states will band together to donate more than 60 Nintendo Wii gaming systems to rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and hospitals all over America. The firms are all members of a consumer safety community called InjuryBoard (www.injuryboard.com).
In Sacramento, the law firm of Demas & Rosenthal, LLP, is donating two Wii systems to the Child Life Department of Shriners Children's Hospital in Sacramento on August 3, 2009, and two Wii systems to the University of California Davis Children's Hospital on August 10, 2009. "Every lawyer in our firm has kids and we recognize that there is nothing more precious than the health and well being of children," says managing partner John Demas. "One of our most important missions, both in and out of the courtroom, is to help children who have suffered unimaginable injuries. These Wiis provide entertainment and play a role in rehabilitation at the same time. We hope they make a small difference for the kids receiving treatment at these great facilities."
The Wii was selected because of a recent trend in rehabilitation toward a new treatment technique known as "Wiihab..". Wiihab makes use of the gaming system's unique, live motion play to offer patients a fun and less painful exercise medium. Demas & Rosenthal, who represents victims of serious accidents (http://www.injury-attorneys.com), hope that their donations will ease the recovery of those in need and will help patients find enjoyment in an otherwise painful and difficult process. Mr. Demas feels that donations are especially important during these tough economic times. "When budgets are squeezed, the little things are the first to go," says Demas. "We wanted to do something to make sure that these kids have access to a fun part of rehabilitation."
The law firm of Demas & Rosenthal specializes in serious personal injury cases (http://www.injury-attorneys.com) and has been servicing Sacramento and the greater Northern California area for nearly 20 years. Members of the firm have been selected as Super Lawyers (a distinction that goes to only the top 5% of all attorneys) and as one of the Top Trial Lawyers in America and one of the nation's top 100 personal injury attorney law firms. Attorneys in the Music Industry Specialize in Intellectual Property Rights
Given the unique nature of the entertainment industry, most specifically the music industry, contracts between recording artists and entertainment companies often use complex terms and conditions that tend to favor the company over the artist. From the company's perspective, there are good reasons for this, but artists often leave contract negotiations feeling cheated.
