Entertainment Attorney, Nick Nanton, Awarded GRAMMY® Vote by National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences
Orlando, FL (Billboard Publicity Wire) December 15, 2006 -- Nick Nanton, a partner at Dicks & Nanton P.A., was recently selected by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) as a voting member for the GRAMMY® Awards.
Nanton has spent more than a decade in the music industry and is an award winning songwriter, producer, sound engineer and artist manager. He has a unique understanding of the music and entertainment business having represented both artists and a variety of record companies.
When told of the news Nanton said, "This is something I've been working toward for a long time. It is indeed an honor to be given this rare opportunity to help in the process of awarding artists for their creative works. I look forward to many years of helping shape the future of the entertainment business."
Nanton spent many years as a performer himself and has shared the stage with many artists, including Top 10 country artist David Kersh and Blues Legend Merl Saunders. He has also performed in a variety of legendary musical venues including "The Hall of Fame Bar," Tootsie's Orchid Lounge," and "The French Quarter" in Nashville.
Nanton's prominent talent and style of songwriting has entertained thousands of people. He won the 2004 Windrift Songwriting Contest for co-writing the grand prize winning song, "Daddy's Little Girl," which received radio play in over 20 states on more than 50 radio stations from coast-to-coast. Nanton also produced the album, "I Won't Give Up," which raised money for the Stop Children's Cancer organization. The title track, which he co-wrote, was performed at Times Square in New York City to more than 80,000 people.
His vast background in the music industry, combined with complete dedication to the trade, brings a highly professional level of expertise to all projects developed through his distinctive touch. Nanton's energetic approach and desire to constantly improve the business of entertainment, has insured him a future of continued success as well as continued artistic and creative growth among his musical peers.
Nanton is currently a member of numerous organizations, including: The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, The American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, The Entertainment Arts and Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar, The Orange County Bar Association, and Florida Blue Key "Florida's Oldest & Most Prestigious Leadership Honorary," to name a few. Nanton spends his spare time rooting for the Florida Gators with his wife, Kristina, and their son, Brock.
